Dizziness

Dizziness is a sensation of lightheadedness or unsteadiness, often accompanied by feelings of swaying, tilting, spinning, floating, or movement, also known as vertigo. It can occur even when you're lying still.

Our body's balance system is complex, involving muscles, joints, eyes, and the inner ear. When any of these parts are affected, or if the brain's processing center is disturbed, dizziness can occur. Disorders of the inner ear are among the most common causes of dizziness.

While occasional dizziness may not be concerning, persistent or unexplained dizziness should be evaluated by a doctor, especially if it occurs frequently or lasts for a prolonged period.
